CITI login & registration

CITI Human Research Training

All faculty, staff, and students involved in the design, collection and/or analysis of data in projects involving human participants must complete the online training through CITI. On question 1 under "Human Subjects Protection" either Biomedical Researchers or Social-Behavioral-Educational Researchers course needs to be taken. Please check with your department which course is required. PT must take the Biomedical Researchers course. The Certificate of Completion, or Completion Report, available at the completion of the training module is to be downloaded and attached to the application in Cayuse IRB if it is not visable in the "Training" section under View.

The IRB also requires that all investigators complete a refresher course every 3 years. Refresher courses can be found under question 2 "Human Subjects Refresher Course". A Basic course must be taken before a Refresher course can be accepted. 

CITI Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS) Training

If the proposed research involves protected health information (PHI), researchers must complete the online training through CITI.  The Certificate of Completion, or Completion report, available at the completion of the training module is to be downloaded and attached to the application in Cayuse IRB.

HIPAA Training completed on or after October 1, 2018 must be through CITI.  We will no longer be accepting training certification through other training sites.
